    this nam is my paternal uncle. Hhis brother Josef was killed in a training accident, his brother, my fathewr was a spitfire piolot in 308 squadron. Immigrated to Australia.

    And your father was probably named Władysław and born around 1926 or 1924 near Pleszew in Poland. His father or your grandfather ended his service in the Polish Army as a major. After World War II he returned to Poland. If so, then your father and my father were cousins. Your grandfather, the major had a sister Jadwiga - this is my grandmother and brother Franciszek, who fell in the battle near Krotoszyn in the Greater Poland Uprising. My father often told me about his 3 brave cousins, 2 of whom died in the Battle of Britain and the third after the fights emigrated to Australia.
